In charge of public health (health promotion, healthcare & hygiene, epidemic prevention), social welfare (support for the diverse needs of low-income families, the disabled, the elderly), women & family affairs (women, children, and youth policies), climate & environment (climate and air quality, resource circulation, environmental policies), water policies (municipal water quality improvement, river management, public sewage), as well as overseeing the Public Health and Environment Research Institute, the Busan Water Authority, the Nakdong River Management Agency, and the Busan Environmental Corporation.
