제9대 부산광역시의회 의장 안성민

We Will Continue Our Commitment to Making Citizens Happy and Helping the City Make Significant Strides Forward!

Metropolitan councils are one of the political foundations of grassroots democracy and a regional policy-making body. The Busan Metropolitan Council is well aware of its role and continues to put “the community and its members at the heart of all that the Busan Metropolitan Council does.”

With the support and encouragement of citizens, the 9th Busan Metropolitan Council began its term in July 2022. Over the last year, the Busan Metropolitan Council has focused primarily on strengthening local council activities and preparing for the future.

The 47 council members are determined to “perform the duty of serving the municipal community,” and deal with immediate issues, including the restoration of regional economic infrastructure and hosting the 2030 World Expo in Busan.

We will build on our experiences and accomplishments to move forward for a better future. Our common focus is on how to speed up the revival of the local economy. As such, the Busan Metropolitan Council will spare no effort to relocate government financial institutions, such as the Korea Development Bank and open the new Gadeokdo airport as soon as possible. In addition, the Busan Metropolitan Council will never compromise on ensuring the safety of its citizens, in particular, safeguarding against water contamination and the malfunctioning of nuclear power plants located close to Busan.

Your voice and participation define the Busan Metropolitan Council. I look forward to your continued support.

Thank you.

Ahn, Sung-Min
